Expertise and Resources
I believe that, as the client, you are the expert in your own ‘internal world’, that you have the strength and resources that you need to work through any difficulties and, with my help and support, you will be able to find and make use of these resources.
I will challenge your thought processes and where they are causing you difficulties, I will support you in identifying any changes you might make. I will also support you in identifying ways of coping with what you cannot, or choose not, to change.
Where appropriate, I will share my knowledge and experience with you in order for us to discover a way of working together that most benefits you.

I have particular expertise working with young people and have been a counsellor at Birmingham City University, De Montfort University, Loughborough University and Queen Alexandra College Birmingham.
I am experienced in working therapeutically with children and have built up a wide range of resources to help children identify and work with their emotions. I have undertaken training in play-therapy and developed my resources accordingly. These include, for example, books, building blocks, toys and games, puppets, sandpit etc. My experience includes a year’s primary school placement with Place2Be (http://www.theplace2be.org.uk/)
